Educational Program Evaluation, Consultation, and Clinical Support

Professionals who work in schools come into contact with children and teens more consistently than any other working field. It is essential for these folks to grasp the essence of supporting the "whole child" while also preparing students for academic and career success.  I offer a myriad of in-school packages specifically related to program evaluation, consultation, and clinical support. In having had experience as a teacher, I am aware of the gaps in teacher education when it comes to understanding the neuro-development of children as it relates to trauma and learning. I also have a passion for the development of in school supports for staff and students in order to create a successful, safe and functioning community. Please see my offerings below, and feel free to contact me with any inquiries regarding what may be suitable for your specific need and/or program.

Packages Offered

These packages can be adjusted to fit the needs of your school environment. Please inquire about pricing.

Art Therapy Package

Art Therapy Groups can be a great means for kids to identify healthy mediums for expression. So often students utilize mal-adaptive strategies to manage their feelings or stress. Art making can help guide students in healthier expression whilst still validating their experience of intense emotion.  Art therapy groups run from 6-8 weeks and, ideally, are a minimum of 1.5 hours. This can also be offered as an "Open Art Studio" extracurricular activity following the school day.

Teacher Self Care Package

This is a two- step process. Facilitator meets with administration and/ or staff to gain a better understanding of school culture, stressors, and strengths of the community. Formal presentation proves to be more successful due to guaranteed participation, however this portion can also be addressed using survey monkey. Based on the results of the inventory, the facilitator will provide staff and faculty an opportunity to explore realistic self-care options that will support their stress management throughout their work day.

Clinical Support Package

This package offers schools monthly external clinical support meetings. This is an opportunity for professionals to bring cases to the table that may be an exceptional challenge for the community, professionals, or support staff. This is an opportunity to work with a mental health professional that has  7 years of teaching experience, extensive knowledge about trauma, area resources, an understanding of 504s and IEPs, as well as success with the development and implementation of realistic interventions to help support the student and the school environment.

Classroom Management Support Package

Sometimes the climate in a classroom can become unwieldy especially if dynamics have shifted, or power struggles are starting to emerge between students. This is a three part process. Initially the facilitator will come and observe the classroom and have a discussion with the teacher about patterns and/or issues that are emerging as well as what was observed. Based on the unique style of the classroom , a group dynamics intervention will be designed to help aid in increasing the positive atmosphere in the classroom community. A follow up meeting discussing techniques for furthering classroom dynamic success, as well as an opportunity to discuss additional interventions as needed will occur.

Team Building and Leadership Package

This package is designed to train admin and leadership staff in structuring meetings and agendas that both model building relationships with students and encourage the building of relationships with each other. Group activities and interventions will be explored and experienced to help increase potential for use in professional development, staff meeting, or other school wide experiences (Professional Learning Days, etc...).

Presentation Package

Facilitator is willing to provide three presentations to the parent and/or staff community on select subject areas that may feel relevant to your community (the development of coping skills, de-escalation training, the building of protective  factors, self care tool kits, and the effects of trauma in the classroom and techniques on how to tackle it).
